When Vanessa Grimaldi and Nick Viall announced that they called off their engagement at the end of August, no one was really surprised. But while the pair couldn’t find lifelong love on The Bachelor, the 30-year-old has moved on to someone new!
The Canadian beauty was spotted hanging out with professional hockey player Brendan Gallagher earlier this week, sparking dating rumors.
“They were having brunch in the Old Port [of Montreal],” an eyewitness told ET. “They seemed really sweet together. There was a lot of laughing and playful gestures.”
Vanessa’s rep confirms that her client and the 25-year-old athlete have “been talking and hanging out together,” but another source says the brunette “doesn’t have a boyfriend” at the moment.
“They’re friends and they are enjoying hanging out. They’re cute. It’s all relatively new,” the source explained. “[Vanessa is] not in any rush for a relationship.”
Vanessa is currently “enjoying taking time for herself, being in Montreal, hanging with her family and friends and focusing on her charity,” but has been going back and forth to Los Angeles to work on E! News.
Nick and Vanessa got engaged on The Bachelor‘s season 21 finale, but called it quits five months later.
The couple announced their breakup in a statement that read, “It’s with a great amount of heartbreak for the both us as we have decided to end our engagement. We gave this relationship our all and we are saddened that we did not get the fairytale ending we hoped for. We will continue to be there for each other no matter what. This hasn’t been an easy decision, however, as we part ways, we do so with lots of love and admiration for each other.”
Who knows — maybe this is the happy ending the special education teacher has been waiting for all this time!
